Darned stoplight/trunk wiring
I have a 66 Landau, that did not have functional stoplights or turn signals. I found that most turn signal problems are caused by the front parking lights. They are pot metal and water gets in them and shorts out the contacts to the bulb. Of course, I figured this out AFTER I had bought the digital box to replace the trunk stop/turn relays. Well, after fixing that, the turns and tails now work fine, but the stop lights are still out. This I'm pretty sure has something to do with an unattached wire that I found. In addition to the turn and stop relays that are wrapped up in the black tape (the thing that is replaced by the digital box),there are two relays that are attached to the body underneath that, ie underneath the parcel tray in the trunk. There is a green wire that has a small capacitor on it. This is the one that is disconnected.
ANy idea what it connects to? It looks like it came of a relay of some sort, as the end appears to be soldered. The problem is I cannot find what it came off of. The two relays (NOT THE THING REPLACED BY THE DIGITAL BOX) seem to have all the wires attached. Wiring diagrams are of little help.
