I don't know about the C6, but my '65 was fairly straight forward.

With the car on four jack stands, place a jack under the transmission to support it.
Unbolt the tranny mount and slide it as far to the rear as you can.
Let the jack down so the tranny is as low as it can go.
Up front, remove the oil filter and unbolt the sway bar form the frame.
Now you should be able to reach both ends of both lines.
Be patient and you should be able to work the old line out and the new line in.
Now reverse the steps to finish up the job.

It took a friend and me about five hours, but we were using only hand tools (no air ratchet, etc). I'm sure it can be done much faster.

By the way, DO NOT forget to put the oil filter back on when youre done, ask me why
