I would assume your 65 is like my 66 so, removing the window is not necessary.
Once the door panel is removed, you will see four bolts in close proximity to the
"cup you put your hand in to close the door once you are in the car.
These four bolts attach the gear assembly, and motor to the door panel.
On the left of the same "cup", you will see tow bolts.
These bolt the window track on the left too the door panel.
Remove them, and reach up inside and remove that small section of track from the door panel, and the roller from the window glass itself.
You will now be able by hand, to push the window up to free the rollers from the track.
They you can slide the motor, and gear assembly out as one unit.
Once the assembly is out, lower the window to protect it from dropping and damaging the glass.
