Screws for Nose piece

Hi,
I just got my '65 convert back from the painter. It's Black Cherry Pearl and looks nice! However, when I disassembled it for the painter, I took off the nose piece to be painted separately. Now I want to install it and noticed that there are no mounting screws that secure the front edge of the piece. I don't recall taking any off but I would like to put some on to hold down the front edge.

Does anyone know the size of those machine screws? They are NOT #6, #8, nor #10. One hardware store suggested that I retap the holes to #10 and use standard screws but that is going to be my last resort.

BTW, the screws are the same size as the T-screws that hold the weatherstripping to the convert top above the windows.

Oh, Guess you mean the front section of the scoop. I have a hood i'm trying to sell. When i get near it i'll pull a screw and check it out. BTW, It woudn't be just a #8 or #10 It would be a 8-24 or 8-32 i think.

I tried lots of auto parts stores and even went to a Ford dealer. He said that I should try Fastenal but I had already been there and they couldn't match it either.
I finally used some old Tnuts that I borrowed from the weatherstripping. It works for now but I'm still wondering what the heck size they are. It's probably just academic now but it bothers me not knowing.

Hey ken, Didn't know the nose piece was not on the hood i was trying to sell, So i coudn't check the bolt size. I do have a T-Bolt from a top kit i bought. Think i'll try and check the size of that. Bob

Checked one of those T-Bolts i had from a kit and it was just a 10/32

The shiney new ones are the normal 10-32. The old rusty ones are ???

Great... Fastenal was going to be my suggestion as I planned to use them for the hard to find hardware during the restoration of my 65. Strange that they can't match the pieces and not a good omen for my way forward...
