New to this forum and would like to ask a question to all Square Bird people. I am restoring a Custom 60 Bird with a 390 bored out to a 406 with 3 duces, T-10 manual 4-speed transmission with floor a floor shift, 15 inch wheels with front Granada spindles and disk brakes and a posi rear. It started out life as a coupe but is now a convert using original 59 top and mechanics. Also has a 3 inch windshield chop.

With the added HP, I will be adding frame strengthening supports between the front sub frame and leaf spring supports underneath the floor. Before I proceed with this mod, I would like to ask all Square Birders if they know of anyone who has already accomplished this frame mod. I am aware for the differences between the coupe and convert bodies. Accomplished the top chop over a year ago and have not seen any body sag yet.

Best Regards;
Larry

Convert with a top chop? Interesting, post some pics when you can.

Not a lot of room underneath, even at the stock ride height. Adding bracing might be a challenge.

yes please post pictures when you can - sounds very interesting and would love to see it.
