Both gauges work the same. Put a ground on the fuel level wire at the tank, turn the key on, if all is well with the wiring/gauge it should very quickly go up to full, do not leave the key on any longer then it takes the gauge to reach full. Do the same with the temp gauge, ground the wire at the engine end and turn the key on. Again if all is well it should go to hot.
