Flooding after shutting off - 390ci?
New to the big block Fords with my new 65 2-Door Hardtop. Both I and the fellow I bought it from are good with a wrench but neither of us are pros.
The carb was professionally cleaned and rebuilt before I bought the car and it starts, idles and does everything perfectly except after shutting off after a long run. I can see clearly down the throat that fuel is being either siphoned or in some other way admitted to the venturis. The result is a flooded carb when I go to restart.
It's not a huge issue but would like to know if there were chronic issues with the carbs on these 390s that Ford may have had a fix for later on?
Thanks.
