When I first noticed it, the transmission had just been rebuilt, motor mounts replaced and the park brake adjusted. I don't know that the transmission and motor mounts would be it. I hoisted the back end up to see if one of the brakes was dragging - it doesn't appear to be.
I wonder if it's the differential. I changed the oil in it, but it still does it. The oil was low when I changed it. The tag on the car says it should have a conventional axle - #6, but I couldn't find a tag on the axle itself. My thought was maybe someone had changed the axle out for an Equalock axle, which I read might shudder/make noise if it had the wrong fluid or not enough fluid.
Anyone have an idea for me?
Thanks,

Look for rub marks on the inside and outside of all tires.
Possibilities: Wrong size tires --> rear axle is about to come out !
